This trek is very famous for those who want to explore the lifestyle of Changpas
–The ladakhi Nomad. Changpa is a nomadic ethnic group of Ladakh and
depends on animal livestock for their living. They rear a large number of yak,
Pashmina goats, horses and sheep. They live in a small herd and keep on
changing their location from time to time depending on the availability of grasson pasture. They live a tent which is specially designed made up of Yak wool and the architectural design of this tent is ingenuously artistic. It is called Rebo.

With the change in time, this ethnic group is gradually becoming endangered as
the younger generation settle down in Leh town and other villages. The
changpas are very fond of eating meat, butter and milk. The Yak cheese made
by Changpas is very famous and relished by people all over the world. It is very much in demand. The trek will take you through green and rugged mountainous trail, giving you a scenic view of mesmerizing landscape. In this trek, you will also come across two very famous lake of Tsokar and Tsomoriri. Tsokar is somewhat small as compared to Turquoise Tsomo Riri Lake flushed infront the the Korzok village adding colours to the natural beauty. Korzok is the headquarter of this valley.In headquater, there is the famous Korzok Monastery; a chunk of nomadic family and few basic life supporting facilities like telephone and community health centre. There is also a small army camp as Tsomoriri is very close to Tibet Occupied China.

Post breakfast we will drive to Rumste village on leh -Manali highway .The first
day of the trekking starts from Rumste to kymar. While moving on with the
trek, you will come across a pasture valley where the nomadic herders or
changpas brings their yaks and goats to graze on. Trek on the ancient salt lake
route and its mesmerizing landscape adds more energy on the first day of trek.

Overnight stay at kyamr.

While stepping your foots for half an hour, we will come across the kumur la
pass (4770 m), which is an easy trail. At the top of the pass ,we can take the
breathtaking view of the snow capped peaks of ladakh including that of mt.
Kangyatse (one of the famous expedition in ladakh).Following the trail
downwards ,we will come across another pass Mandalchan la( 4996 m).On
reaching Tisaling ,your walk for the day conclude and make yourself calm for
tomorrow. Overnight at camp.

Embark on an early morning trek towards pangunagu. While trekking, halt at
the Shibuk la pass and enjoy the panoramic view of the Tsokar lake, hidden
beauty of Himalaya, attracts a lots of migrating birds and is an ideal spot for
bird watching. Over night at Panguagu.

Today we can do some sightseeing and birds watching at the Tsokar lake and at
the end of trail, make a right and enter the Nuruchan .Retire at the tents for an
overnight stay at camp.

an easy ascend to the pass take us around one hours and thirty minutes. While
stepping downwards towards, through narrow edge of Stream River. Over night
at the base camp.

Today it’s quite challenging one and indeed the longest day of the this route.
From the camp site onwards we will starts climbing the Kyamaur la (5125 m).
From the top of the pass we can view the glittering view of Himalaya ranges,
with snow covered. After crossing few streams, we will leads towards another
pass Gyama la (5100 m). After burning yourself for whole day, retired yourself
at camp.

After having early breakfast, we will march our steps towards the korzok pass
along with the streams like every day. From the top of pass, we can enjoy the
mesmerizing views of western Tibetan peaks. The pass will leads to korzok,
which is the only settlement on the bank of Tsomoriri Lake. Overnight stay in
camp. In the evening time you can visit korzok monastery, village and go for a
short walk along the lake to cherish the beauty of world famous Tsomo Riri Lake.

Fare welling to pony man, we will drive back to leh all along the Indus River,
which is around 225km from korzok. On the way, visit the chumathang hot
spring. By evening we will reach leh and overnight at the hotel.

Important Things You must know before the starts of the Trek

 You must be well acclimatized before the start of the trek. As starting

trek, without taking precaution leads to untoward incident.

 You must bring warm clothes, good trekking shoes, Slipper for river

crossing, Walking stick.

 Sun cream is very important to protect your skin.

 Sun glasses

 Water bottle and water filter.

How is a usual day of Trekking?

Early in the morning you are serve bed tea in the with morning wishes. After
bed tea, you start packing your things. Breakfast is served in the dining tent.
After breakfast, you are ready for the day. Guide walks with you but before
living don’t forget to check your bag that it contain all the important things you
need during the day like Camera, sun cream, water bottle, lunch box etc. You
will carry a light backpack containing all these important things required during
the day and the other things will come of the horse back. At noon, you stop for
lunch at a nice location and have some rest. Trek continues and the horseman
and kitchen staff will lead you on the way. Before your arrival at the camp, our
team would have put your tent and would be waiting for you with tea, juice and
light snacks. After the arrival at campsite, you can enjoy your leisure in your
own way. The dinner is served around 7 in the evening. Afer the dinner, the
guide brief you about the next day and give you timing for the next morning.
The food menu in breakfast, lunch and dinner keep changing ranging from
Indian, Tibetan Chinese, Ladakhi, Continental, and Italian.
